Sezzle is seeking a Commercial Contracts Legal Associate to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of contract law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with various departments to ensure contractual obligations are met and risks are minimized.Role Responsibilities:
- Drafting of Contracts: Prepare, review, and finalize a variety of commercial contracts.
- Negotiation of Contracts: Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with Sezzle’s clients and partners.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Contract Management: Maintain and manage the contract database.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks in contract terms and conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving any disputes that may arise from contractual agreements.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research on issues related to contracts.
- Training and Development: Provide training to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 2-4 years of experience in commercial contract law
- Strong understanding of contract law
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
