The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) is seeking an Intern to support its Africa team in advancing clean cooking and productive use of energy (PUE) initiatives. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of energy access, clean cooking, and economic empowerment in Africa.The intern will be involved in:
  • Tracking GeCCo activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintaining partner engagement logs and supporting strategic relationships.
  • Assisting in the development and coordination of fundraising proposals.
  • Providing project management support to the Demand, Jobs and Livelihoods (DJL) team.
  • Contributing to the development of a new Productive Africa strategy.
  • Conducting research on energy access and transition-related topics and analyzing data.
  • Drafting project deliverables and supporting program administration.
GEAPP requires the following qualifications:
  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant Master’s or PhD program.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of French or Portuguese is desirable.
  • Little to no prior experience (under 3 years).
  • Demonstrated interest in electricity policy, finance, and energy economics.

  • Strong communication and writing abilities.
  • Basic financial analysis understanding.
