Senior Software Engineer, Backend Development

Appier is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend Development to join their team in Taipei, Taiwan. Appier is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to power business decision-making. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and building scalable and performant backend architecture, owning and driving the technical roadmap for sizable projects or services, mentoring junior engineers, and facilitating high-performance agile teams, collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role involves:

• Owning sizable engineering projects and services.
• Leading system designs and providing technical guidance to team members.
• Leading code reviews.
• Facilitating agile processes.
• Improving system observability and incident management.
• Developing and operating scalable and reliable service-based software.
• Participating in on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Leadership experience.
• Ability to build web services on Linux.
• Proficiency in Python/Scala/Go/Java/C++.
• Knowledge of Network API Design (REST or GraphQL).
• Understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proactive and problem-solving skills.
