Job Description

Contentful is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join their Content API Team. This role is based in Dublin, Ireland, and involves contributing to the future of content management and delivery through Contentful's APIs. The engineer will work within a cross-functional team, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to enhance the customer experience.

The Senior Full Stack Engineer will work on projects that directly impact Contentful's strategic goals, focusing on connecting and delivering content at scale. They will also be involved in leveraging AI to improve user experience and streamline operations. The role requires continuous enhancement of REST and GraphQL API experiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
  • Innovating and improving content management.
  • Developing on Contentful's platform using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Enhancing REST and GraphQL API experiences.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
  • Strong skills in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Expertise in building RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and backend systems using Node.js.
  • Practical knowledge of building, maintaining, and optimizing GraphQL APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.), and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Proficient in Git and understanding of workflows such as GitFlow.
  • Experience in building and maintaining robust, flexible APIs with an emphasis on scalability and performance.
  • Deep understanding of event-driven programming and handling asynchronous processes in Node.js.
