Engineering Manager at Resident

Resident is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their R&D team in Tel Aviv. The Engineering Manager will dedicate 70% of their time to hands-on technical tasks and 30% to managerial responsibilities. This role focuses on enhancing the performance and scalability of the e-commerce platform's front end, ensuring a high-performing and user-friendly web experience.

The Engineering Manager will collaborate with frontend and backend developers, product managers, and leadership to improve performance, optimize external integrations, and enhance monitoring capabilities. They will also act as the team lead and the Director's backup, providing technical leadership and ensuring smooth deployments.

What this role involves:

• Leading the development and optimization of frontend applications using React and Next.js.
• Improving Core Web Vitals (LCP, FID, CLS) to enhance SEO and user experience.
• Monitoring and analyzing real-time performance metrics using Looker and Datadog.
• Establishing and enforcing front-end best practices, code quality standards, and testing strategies.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with React/Next.js.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Expertise in Frontend Development with a strong focus on performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of Core Web Vitals
• Experience with API integrations, server-side rendering (SSR), and static site generation (SSG)
• Familiarity with backend concepts (Node.js, API performance, caching).
• Strong experience in monitoring tools like Looker and Datadog.
• Proven ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with incident management and crisis resolution
• Ability to mentor and guide developers
