Engineering Manager at Wallapop

Wallapop, a Barcelona-based scale-up, seeks an Engineering Manager for its Managed Marketplace Tribe. The role focuses on creating a trustworthy transaction environment for users. The Engineering Manager will guide teams in delivering high-quality software, promote a collaborative culture, and ensure alignment through clear vision and efficient processes.

What the role involves:

• Lead engineering for a topic team to ship high-quality software on predictable schedules.
• Ensure that the meetings are effective.
• Coach people & the organization.
• Provide vision, sense of purpose, and visibility to teams.
• Implement process improvements.
• Have regular one-on-ones with engineers.
• Iterate and improve engineering processes and technical culture.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of engineers.

Requirements:

• Experience leading engineering teams (+2 years preferred).
• Strong verbal English communication skills (Spanish is a plus).
• Comfortable with participatory management/servant leadership.
• Positive attitude, excellent problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Quality-driven, attention to detail, and pragmatic.
• Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
