Data Science Manager at Wallapop

Wallapop, a Barcelona-based scale-up, is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead and grow a team of data scientists. The Data Science Manager will define data science projects, manage timelines and resources, provide technical guidance, and build strong relationships with stakeholders, contributing to the development of the company's overall data strategy.

What this role involves:

• Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of data scientists.
• Defining and prioritizing data science projects aligned with business objectives.
• Providing technical guidance and support to the data science team.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of the company's overall data strategy.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a data science or machine learning role, with at least 3+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership position.
• Strong proficiency in Python and R.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms.
• Expertise in data mining, data warehousing, and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
