Backend Engineer at Showpad

Showpad is seeking a Backend Engineer to drive innovation and optimize the existing codebase. The Backend Engineer will have autonomy and ownership over their work, ensuring well-architected code functionality, test automation, scalability, and monitoring. The ideal candidate will collaborate with product and design teams to plan and develop groundbreaking new features. This role involves designing and implementing architecture and maintaining the team's products with a you-build-it-you-own-it philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and directing projects from scoping to release
• Contributing to broader engineering/enablement and product strategy
• Solving complex problems and building performant, scalable, low-latency, and highly available services
• Collaborating with product and design to plan and continuously develop
• Designing and implementing architecture for new features
• Maintaining the team's products in a you-build-it-you-own-it philosophy

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer developing scalable, production-ready solutions
• Experience with Typescript, Golang, PHP, or JVM languages (Kotlin, Scala)
• Experience in cloud computing
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
• Understanding of strong software testing and test-driven development
• Continuous integration and delivery mindset
