Job Description
Point72 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Proprietary Research team in New York. The role involves partnering with Investment Professionals and the Compliance team to uncover insights through deep fundamental research and applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets. The Senior Data Engineer will help set technical direction and work closely with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists to design, build, and launch robust end-to-end data pipelines and tools.What this role involves:
  • Developing and supporting big data processing pipelines.
  • Building out cloud-based infrastructure using distributed techniques.
  • Evaluating new technologies for handling and processing big data.
  • Building and supporting visualization and exploration capabilities.
The requirements for this role are:
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related development work.
  • Experience with system design and leading multi-person development efforts.
  • Strong experience in Python development.
  • Experience with Spark and Cloud computing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of/experience with graph databases is a plus.
