Point72 is seeking a Web Scraping Engineer to join their Market Intelligence team in Warsaw. The Market Intelligence team is responsible for developing proprietary research products, providing data and research management services for investment teams. The ideal candidate will build solutions for processing big and unstructured data sets, extracting and ingesting data from websites, using Compliance-approved web crawling tools.
Role involves: - Creating tools, services, and workflows to improve crawl/scrape analysis, reports, and data management
- Testing data and scrapes to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Identifying and rectifying any issues and scaling scrapes as needed
Requirements: - Solid Python and SQL knowledge
- Experience orchestrating automated programs at scale
- Working experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS stack)
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript and Networking
- Familiarity with common crawling, extracting, and processing data tools
- Working knowledge of version control systems and open source practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
