Full Stack Software Engineer - Search Quality Evaluation

Perplexity is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer to contribute to the advancement of search technologies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating robust internal tools designed to evaluate quality, conduct experiments, and investigate search system behavior. This role involves close collaboration with Search, AI, Data, and Product teams to pinpoint tooling requirements and construct sophisticated toolsets that empower AI/ML engineers and data scientists engaged in Search Quality.

The Full Stack Engineer will research existing solutions, develop custom solutions as needed, and design and develop architecture that unifies new tools with existing pipelines and LLM- or agent-based evaluation frameworks.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with Search, AI, Data and Product teams to identify tooling needs
• Building advanced toolsets to empower AI/ML engineers and data scientists working on Search Quality
• Researching existing solutions and develop custom ones where needed
• Designing and developing architecture that unifies new tools with existing pipelines and LLM- or agent-based evaluation frameworks

Requirements include:

• Strong programming skills with the ability to work across the full stack
• Self-driven with a bias toward ownership and delivery
• Solid understanding of data and experimentation workflows
• Proven track record in building sophisticated internal tools
• A passion for shipping high-quality products
• 4+ years of industry experience
