Job Description
Gotion Inc. is seeking a Welding Engineer for their 40GW battery cell facility in Manteno, IL. The Welding Engineer will develop and optimize welding processes for battery components, ensuring high-quality welds using advanced welding technologies. He/she will collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability of battery components and train technicians on welding procedures and safety protocols.
Role Involves:
- Developing and validating welding processes (e.g., laser welding, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding) for battery cell assembly.
- Programming and maintaining robotic welding systems.
- Conducting weld quality testing and analysis.
- Troubleshooting welding issues and implementing process improvements.
- Collaborating with design and production teams.
- Training technicians on welding procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in welding engineer.
- Proficiency with welding technologies (e.g., laser, MIG, TIG) and robotic welding systems.
- Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties related to aluminum, copper, and steel.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with quality control tools (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with automotive or battery industry standards is preferred.
