Job Description
Cubist Systematic Strategies, an affiliate of Point72, is seeking a Data Scientist to join their data services group. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of data to portfolio managers, supporting the implementation of a large research infrastructure and live production trading across global capital markets.

The role involves:
  • Identifying new data sets and engaging with vendors.
  • Building processes and tools to ingest, tag, and clean datasets.
  • Analyzing datasets to generate descriptive statistics and propose applications.
  • Researching potential alpha signals for presentation to Portfolio Managers.
  • Monitoring and enhancing the automated data collection and cleansing infrastructure.
  • Researching new technologies for improved data management and retrieval.

Desirable candidates should have:
  • A Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as computer science, mathematics, or statistics.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
  • Experience working with large data sets and applying statistical tests.
  • Programming skills in SQL, Python, and at least one of C#, C++, or Java.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
