Job Description
Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking a Lead Animator (Tech) to join their team. This role involves working closely with various department heads to oversee and streamline animation workflows and creative intentions. The Lead Animator (Tech) will communicate pipeline needs, improve tools and technology, and advocate for the Animators.He/She will manage workflow processes, troubleshoot technical or creative issues, and maintain animation workflows. The role also includes facilitating communication across departments, guiding artists, and ensuring efficient operation while meeting artistic goals. and studio-wide initiatives.Role responsibilities include:
  • Creating manageable workflows and technical solutions.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and providing guidance.
  • Facilitating communication across departments.
  • Guiding Pipeline and Rigging work.
  • Improving the production pipeline, tools and methodologies.
  • Managing show-specific documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in feature film animation.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Maya.
  • Experience developing animation pipelines.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot creative and technical problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong drive for optimization.
  • Collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with Python or MEL.
