Canonical is seeking a Channel Sales Manager in Japan to expand its channel sales team. The role involves leveraging partner expertise to promote open-source technology across various industries. Reporting to the Director of APAC Channel Sales, the Channel Sales Manager will aim to achieve annual growth quotas by identifying, prospecting, and engaging reseller and distributor partners. The role requires comfort in leading initiatives and selling open-source, cloud, virtualization, and technical software solutions.
The role involves:
- Developing and executing channel strategies for distributors and resellers within Japan.
- Increasing awareness of Canonical in Open Source and Cloud.
- Identifying and recruiting new partners.
- Guiding partners through onboarding and enablement.
- Developing mutually beneficial go-to-market plans.
- Arranging and executing sales and pre-sales training.
- Driving and managing channel pipeline.
- Supporting partner satisfaction.
- Maintaining regular contact with priority partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in technology.
- Experience in software or technology sales in the Japanese market.
- Fluency in English.
- Understanding of open source, Linux, and Ubuntu.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
- Effective negotiating skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a globally distributed team.
