Senior Engineer, Core Systems (C++ / SDK)

Job Description

Genies is seeking a Senior Engineer, Core Systems (C++) to join their Developer Platform Team. This role is based in either their San Mateo or Los Angeles office. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing cross-platform native frameworks. These frameworks empower both 1st and 3rd party developers to effectively utilize Genies' technologies. The goal is to simplify the process for creators to translate their imagination into reality. This pivotal role involves crafting core aspects of Genies' technology with a zero-to-one approach, making it a critical area for the Developer Platform and the entire company.Role involves:

• Developing new systems, integrations, and pipelines to expand the platforms supported by Genies' SDKs.
• Optimizing SDKs and frameworks for performance across various platforms, including mobile, desktop, VR, AR, and WebGL.
• Collaborating with the backend team to ensure seamless integration with user data and networked environments.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to the Developer Platform’s functionality and performance.
• Implementing AI-driven features to enhance the Avatar Framework and Developer Tooling.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Advanced degrees are a plus).
• Strong programming skills in modern C++ and experience in building native applications.
• Proven experience writing complex systems, frameworks, or developer tools in modern C++.
• Familiarity with real-time rendering techniques, 3D mesh processing algorithms, and performance optimization.
• Experience with game engines like Unity and Unreal in a professional setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
