Infrastructure Engineer (f/m/d) at Contentful

Contentful is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure. The engineer will help shape the backbone that supports billions of monthly requests, working in a collaborative environment. The role involves improving systems thoughtfully and delivering value to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
• Work with AWS using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
• Deploy and optimize Kubernetes clusters.
• Improve observability at scale.
• Anticipate bottlenecks or failure points.
• Participate in incident response and postmortems.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure in high-availability environments.
• Strong AWS knowledge across core services.
• Terraform expertise.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS).
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Go preferred).
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Familiarity with CDN/Edge (e.g., Fastly).
• Experience with observability stacks.
• Familiarity with SRE practices.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset.
• Ability to context switch and contribute across multiple workstreams.
