SmartBear is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to drive the future of their Platform Services. The ideal candidate will lead the development and architecture of the SmartBear Platform, working with a team of talented engineers to design and implement scalable services used across all products. This role involves providing technical leadership for the front-end and back-end engineering stack, contributing to technical discussions, and collaborating with cross-product teams. SmartBear's solution hubs bring visibility and automation to software development, making it easier for teams to deliver high-quality software faster.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and architecture of the SmartBear Platform.
  • Working with a team of engineers to design and implement scalable services.
  • Providing technical leadership for the front-end and back-end engineering stack.
  • Contributing to technical discussions and requirements analysis.
  • Collaborating with other teams to integrate systems and services.
  • Driving high engineering standards through peer reviews.
  • Ensuring code quality aligns with established guidelines.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Full-stack development with Typescript, Java, Node.js, and React.
  • Experience in high-volume SaaS applications in a cloud environment (AWS focused).
  • Experience working with an AWS serverless/lambda microservice architecture.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming.
  • Experience building micro-service architectures with Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with event streaming systems like Kafka, Active MQ, EventBridge.
  • Experience with high load RDBMS (e.g., Postgres) and NoSQL Databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in synchronous and asynchronous API design.
  • Knowledge of observability tools and frameworks.
  • Product security engineering and OWASP knowledge (preferred).
  • English written and verbal communication skills (B2 level).
