SmartBear is seeking a Technical Writer to simplify complex software engineering concepts for users of its testing and API products. In this role, the candidate will create user guides and how-to guides to enhance user experience.

The Technical Writer will collaborate with engineers and software developers to ensure information is comprehensive and accurate. They will also work with UX designers on UI terms and text. The role involves creating videos and tutorials and adhering to information design and style guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, update, and edit documentation for tools for API, test automation, performance testing, or test management.
  • Work collaboratively with writers and engineers to research new features, schedule documentation reviews, and publish product information.
  • Work with UX designers on UI terms and text.
  • Create videos and tutorials.
  • Adhere to information design and style guidelines.
  • Support cross-organizational activities to help grow the technical writing field.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in software technical writing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Software-related or linguistic higher education.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Firm understanding of software development life cycle.
  • English on at least A1 level.
