Sr. Data Analyst

Job Description

Platform Science is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to transform raw data into strategic insights. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams, making the Senior Data Analyst the primary point of contact between the Data Team and the rest of the company. The position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL, and the ability to create and present visualizations. The Senior Data Analyst acts as an advocate for data-informed decision-making across the organization and contributes to the development of the data team through technical mentoring and process improvement.

The role involves:

• Identifying and interpreting trends in complex datasets using a modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake, Looker).
• Collaborating with product and engineering teams to define and analyze KPIs.
• Applying expertise in quantitative analysis, data visualization, and data-mining to create data alerts and actionable insights.
• Filtering, cleaning, and transforming data from various sources.
• Prioritizing business and information needs in collaboration with management.
• Identifying new process improvement opportunities within the data team.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst.
• 3+ years of experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Domo).
• Advanced SQL skills (joins, unions, sub-queries, CTE, aggregations, etc.).
• Technical expertise in data mining, modeling, transforming, cleansing, and validating.
• Ability to translate vague requests into concise deliverables.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or equivalent.
