IT Operations Engineer, Data Center Technology

Job Description

Point72 is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join their Technology team. This role focuses on maintaining and improving the company's IT infrastructure within their data centers. The IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of data center facilities and resolving technical issues.They will act as a company-facing expert and assist with internal technical problems to ensure smooth data center operations.

• Setting up and installing network, storage, and server hardware.
• Maintaining documentation and reports.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting system health issues.
• Deploying and configuring Linux and Windows servers.
• Collaborating with data center partners to ensure proper facility operations.
• Identifying reliability risks.
• Scheduling and tracking hardware maintenance.
• Updating port maps and rack layouts.
• Creating operational procedures.
• Working with third-party vendors.

• 3+ years of systems support experience.
• Knowledge of the OSI model.
• Hands-on experience in data center operations.
• Proficiency with Linux, Windows servers, and VMware.
• Familiarity with server, network, and SAN equipment setup.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
• Quick learner with a desire to acquire new skills.
• Experience in network and power capacity planning.
• Proficient in using standard hardware lifts.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
