Principal Product Designer

Zeals, a fast-growing tech company in Japan, is seeking a Principal Product Designer to elevate their experience design. The role involves driving product initiatives, shaping user-centered experiences, and guiding the evolution of design systems. The Principal Product Designer will mentor other designers and partner with leadership to set the vision and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute critical product design initiatives.
• Apply expertise in UX, UI, and interaction design.
• Set and influence product-wide design standards.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to shape product strategy.
• Drive the evolution of the design system.
• Mentor and support other designers.
• Champion user-centered thinking.
• Identify opportunities for strategic research.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of product design experience.
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional design craft.
• Mastery of UX, UI, and interaction design principles.
• Experience setting or evolving design systems.
• Strong storytelling and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring other designers.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity.
• Proficiency in Figma.
