Tenable is seeking an Advanced Technical Support Engineer to provide world-class support for its cybersecurity products. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between Tenable and its customers, resolving technical challenges across complex customer deployments. This role requires excellent knowledge of security assessment, vulnerability management, and compliance auditing capabilities.

The Technical Support Engineer will provide hands-on support for Tenable's entire product suite, including Tenable Vulnerability Management, Tenable Security Center, and Nessus Professional. They will also analyze vulnerability scan results, system audits, and log events, recreating customer software issues in a lab environment.

Role Involves:

  • Serving as the primary technical liaison between the customer and Tenable internal groups.
  • Analyzing and clarifying customer technical inquiries.
  • Analyzing vulnerability scan results, system audits, and log events.
  • Recreating customer software issues in a lab environment.
  • Ensuring customer feedback is properly channelled into Product Management and Research & Development.
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of Tenable products and information security best-practices.
  • Creating and publishing solution knowledge for re-use by customers and Tenable employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on proven experience in field engineering or technical support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Access to High Quality Broadband.
  • 2+ Years Customer Support with a hi-tech company, working with enterprise customers.
  • Strong technical and robust problem-solving skills.
  • Strong desire to learn new skills at an accelerated pace.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Linux and Windows Server Administration and Configuration.
  • Network administration, Firewall Configuration, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, etc to analyze packet captures (pcaps).
  • Experience with SQL and database administration.
  • Log File Analysis Experience.
  • Working Knowledge of: Firewalls, CVE's and Security Bulletins.
