Khan Academy is seeking a Freelance Hindi Science (Chemistry) Video Localization Expert to support its Math and Science offerings in Indian languages. Khan Academy aims to provide free, world-class education. The role involves localizing videos from English to Hindi, interacting with state teachers, and ensuring content quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Localizing English Science videos into Hindi.
  • Reviewing and Editing KA ScienceHindi content.
  • Creating and localizing new content (videos) as needed.
  • Collecting on-ground feedback on content by interacting with state teachers.
  • Going through Science textbooks to highlight needed modifications before localisation.
  • Reading through original material, reviewing it and recreating it in the target language.
  • Researching on relevant phraseology to find the correct localization.
  • Proofreading and editing final translated versions on the basis of the basic quality parameters.
  • Retaining and developing knowledge on specialist areas of video localization.
  • Developing glossary for the specific terminologies to be used in Khan Academy’s localization process and continuously update it with new terminology.

Requirements:

  • Loves Science (especially Chemistry).
  • Fluent in Hindi language (speaking and writing).
  • Native Hindi speaker.
  • Can localize videos in Hindi.
  • Have video making experience.
  • Studied and/or taught in a Hindi medium school (preferred).
  • Experience in online teaching, video creation/Localization (preferred).
  • Being tech-savvy and tech-curious (preferred).
