Freelance Senior Software Engineer - Remote Costa Rica at Seamless.AI

Seamless.AI is seeking a Freelance Senior Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will lead the technical design and development of software projects independently from start to finish. This role involves collaborating with other engineers to design, develop, and maintain software applications.Responsibilities include providing technical expertise, developing high-quality code, ensuring timely project completion within budget, defining technical requirements, collaborating with teams, offering technical guidance, conducting code reviews, researching new technologies, resolving technical challenges, and contributing to technical documentation. The candidate should maintain clear communication with project teams and stakeholders while working independently.

• Providing technical expertise in the design, development, and maintenance of software products.
• Developing and maintaining high-quality software code in alignment with project requirements.
• Ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
• Collaborating with other teams to establish and maintain best practices for software development.

• Expert knowledge of modern frontend technologies such as React, ES6/7 JavaScript, Webpack, HTML, and CSS.
• Expert knowledge of modern back-end development and back-end JavaScript (Node.js, ExpressJS), SQL (Aurora Postgres), and AWS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address technical issues and challenges.
• Experience with software development tools such as GitHub and JIRA.
• Experience with cloud-based development and deployment, such as AWS.
• Experience with Agile in a highly collaborative, team-based environment.
• Experience mentoring and coaching software engineers.
• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• 5+ years of experience with modern frontend (React.js) and backend (Node.js, Express.js) JavaScript development.
• Bachelor’s in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
