South Africa A&R Manager - Contract

Job Description

UnitedMasters is seeking a South Africa A&R Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role is based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa. The A&R Manager will be responsible for identifying new talent and trends, pitching the company's services to artists, and developing relationships with industry professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the South African music industry and a passion for improving outcomes for independent artists.He/She will be responsible for:

• Researching and identifying new talents and trends
• Pitching the company and services to artists, managers and labels
• Understanding deal points and market rates for talent
• Developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals
• Identifying local artistic opportunities for Partner Artists
• Serving as a local point of contact for artists
• Finding producers, writers, session musicians, and collaborators
• Being the creative voice of the company for the music community
• Working with Artist Relations to confirm recording documents
• Maintaining a portfolio strategy and supporting regional objectives

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in the music industry in A&R, label management, repertoire, or marketing roles
• Relevant experience in client management
• Solid network in the music industry in South Africa
• Advanced English proficiency
