UnitedMasters is seeking a South Africa A&R Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role is based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa. The A&R Manager will be responsible for identifying new talent and trends, pitching the company's services to artists, and developing relationships with industry professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the South African music industry and a passion for improving outcomes for independent artists.He/She will be responsible for:
- Researching and identifying new talents and trends
- Pitching the company and services to artists, managers and labels
- Understanding deal points and market rates for talent
- Developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals
- Identifying local artistic opportunities for Partner Artists
- Serving as a local point of contact for artists
- Finding producers, writers, session musicians, and collaborators
- Being the creative voice of the company for the music community
- Working with Artist Relations to confirm recording documents
- Maintaining a portfolio strategy and supporting regional objectives
- 4+ years of experience in the music industry in A&R, label management, repertoire, or marketing roles
- Relevant experience in client management
- Solid network in the music industry in South Africa
- Advanced English proficiency
