Senior Software Engineer at Niantic

Niantic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Security Engineering Team in Zürich. This role focuses on building and maintaining custom security infrastructure for a company known for its augmented reality games. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with Security Analysts and Platform Software Engineers to design and implement efficient and reliable solutions, while also providing ongoing support for legacy projects and leading initiatives to enhance system quality and reliability.Role involves:

• Collaborating on requirements and designing efficient solutions.
• Supporting legacy projects and identifying areas for improvement.
• Leading initiatives to enhance system quality and reliability.
• Participating in code reviews and writing unit tests.
• Evaluating designs for scalability and maintainability.

Qualifications:

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience building performant applications or backend systems.
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, C++, Golang, Javascript.
• Experience with data storage technologies such as PostgreSQL, Spanner, BigQuery.
• Experience with cloud hosting providers and orchestration environments like Kubernetes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
