Senior Demo Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Description

Contentful is seeking a Senior Demo Engineer to develop digital applications showcasing the use of Contentful. The role involves being at the forefront of new product features, building demos for product launches, analyst calls, and customer conferences. The Senior Demo Engineer will also create how-to guides, tutorials, record technical videos, and conduct in-person workshops.

This role requires solid development skills and experience in shipping successful digital applications. Creative thinking and good UX instincts are important. The candidate will work on a wide range of tasks including frontend, backend, QA, and DevOps, across web, internal tooling, and AI projects.

The core Demo team is small, and they work with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Partnership teams to identify key business requirements and technical specifications for demo assets.

Role Involves:

• Supporting customer use cases and enabling integrations with cloud providers, AI services, and SaaS vendors.
• Identifying high-value technical problems and prototyping quick solutions.
• Mastering technical topics underpinning effective use of the Contentful platform.
• Leveraging DevOps infrastructure and AI tools to automate tasks and support workflows.
• Prototyping new integrations with tech partners.
• Collaborating with various teams to create polished demo sites and apps.
• Coaching junior engineers and peers, acting as a tech lead for cross-functional projects.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software development and/or systems engineering experience.
• Strong technical experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Svelte).
• Extensive experience working with APIs (including GraphQL API).
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows and DevOps best practices.
• Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact problems.
• Good communication skills and ability to present complex technical concepts.
• Proactive attitude and ability to master new topics quickly.
• Experience in full-stack development, working with AI, implementing design systems, and launching mobile apps.
