Senior Demo Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Description

Contentful is seeking a Senior Demo Engineer to join their team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing digital applications that showcase the use of Contentful in established and emerging areas. This role involves being at the forefront of new product features, building demos for product launches, analyst calls, and customer conferences.

The Senior Demo Engineer will also contribute to user education by developing how-to guides and tutorials, recording technical videos, and conducting in-person workshops. This hands-on position requires solid development skills and experience in shipping successful digital applications. Creative thinking and good UX instincts are essential, as the role involves creating things from scratch and crafting delightful interaction loops.

The role involves working on a wide range of tasks, including frontend, backend, QA, and DevOps, across diverse projects spanning web, internal tooling, and AI. The demo team operates a modern technology stack and has significant input into the tools and architectural patterns used.

Role involves:

• Supporting customer use cases and enabling integrations with cloud providers, AI services, and SaaS vendors.
• Prototyping solutions in the form of components, apps, integrations, or demo environments.
• Mastering technical topics underpinning effective use of the Contentful platform.
• Leveraging DevOps infrastructure and AI tools to automate tasks and support workflows.
• Prototyping new integrations with tech partners.
• Collaborating with various teams to create polished demo sites and apps.
• Coaching junior engineers and peers, acting as a tech lead for cross-functional projects.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software development and/or systems engineering experience.
• Strong technical experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Svelte).
• Extensive experience working with APIs (including GraphQL API).
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows and DevOps best practices.
• Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact problems.
• Good communication skills and ability to present complex technical concepts.
