Job Description

Vim is seeking a hands-on Backend Team Lead to spearhead the technical direction and execution of their Data Infrastructure team. This role involves designing and implementing robust backend systems that integrate with multiple clinical data sources. The Team Lead will balance coding and architectural responsibilities with guiding the team and ensuring technical excellence.

Our proven Core Application suite for diagnosis gaps, care gaps, referrals, medication recommendations, data exchange and more has paved the way for us to unlock accelerated healthcare innovation through our new developer platform (Canvas). What this role involves:

• Building a next-generation data platform using cutting-edge AI technology.
• Integrating with diverse external clinical data sources, ensuring seamless data flow.
• Maintaining high reliability, scalability, and data integrity across the platform.
• Upholding strong engineering standards to ensure a robust and future-proof system.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong expertise in Node.js and/or Python.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or mentoring developers
• Experience designing and building data integration pipelines (APIs, ETL, batch processing).
• Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and optimizing queries.
• Strong problem-solving skills—able to design the right solution for complex data flows.
• Comfortable making architectural decisions and driving technical strategy.
