Sony Music Entertainment is seeking a Royalty Audit Manager to support its Royalty Audit Department. This role involves fieldwork and preparing rebuttals to audit reports on behalf of Sony artists, producers, licensing or profit participation partners, and music publishers and label unions.
What this role involves: - Communicating with auditors on various matters.
- Extracting data from royalty, sales, distribution, and financial systems.
- Performing unit and financial reconciliations.
- Verifying the accuracy of claim schedules.
- Investigating potential counterclaims.
- Preparing responses to audit reports.
- Maintaining audit work papers.
- Working with other Sony Music departments to ensure accurate reporting.
Who is suitable for this role: - CA / CPA or equivalent.
- 2+ years of related work experience preferably with a royalty compliance audit or business management firm, record company, music publisher, or online streaming and media service provider (e.g. Spotify).
- Prior experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Prior experience in managing internal/external audits.
- Ready to work in US shift (4.30pm – 1.30am) and flexible to extend if needed.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to consolidate and analyze information from several different sources.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have a curious nature and a strong ability to learn and apply new concepts.
- Advanced data management skills (Power BI, Tableau, or other experience related to manipulating/slicing big data) is a plus.
