Research Software Engineer

Job Description

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Research Software Engineer to contribute to the advancement of mobile communications and networks. This role involves research and development of next-generation technologies, requiring a commitment to creating real-world solutions. The candidate will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation and cooperation.This is a hybrid position based in Arlington, VA or Herndon, VA, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office, with occasional travel for product transitions.Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design, build, test, and implementation phases of research programs.
• Familiarize oneself with the inner workings of smartphones, including hardware, kernel, drivers, firmware, framework, and apps.
• Identify security and privacy risks in apps, systems, and architectures.
• Design and develop custom software solutions for prototype and production-level systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related experience.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience with C/C++ or Rust.
• Familiarity with standard Linux software engineering tools (e.g., git, gcc, make).
• Active Top Secret clearance is required.
