Job Description
SmartAsset is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its QA team. The QA team at SmartAsset aims to improve application stability and quality through scalable automated solutions and a well-tested environment. The role involves leading testing efforts, creating testing solutions, and contributing to a new automation suite.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the testing needs of an Agile Scrum team for critical lead management services.
- Developing new automated tests for both frontend and backend systems.
- Collaborating with QA team members to build a standardized QA suite and align on testing procedures.
- Migrating existing Selenium automation tests to Playwright.
- Working closely with developers and product members to understand testing needs.
- Identifying opportunities to adopt new technologies or processes to improve software quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience on QA teams with a heavy focus on automation.
- Strong experience with an automated testing framework such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Proven experience in developing automated suites with Java and TypeScript (TypeScript required).
- Knowledge of Git or other source control tools.
- Familiarity with testing APIs through Postman or other API testing tools.
- Experience with developing load and stress tests.
- Experience supporting development teams with testing for both frontend and backend components.
- Excellent communication skills and familiarity working in an Agile environment.
- Experience in test management tools such as TestRails or Xray (Qase preferred).
- Ability to build test plans and support the team with both manual and automated testing.
- Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment and the ability to be cross-functional.
