Senior Software Engineer at Alpaca

Alpaca, a US-based brokerage infrastructure technology company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its global engineering team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining systems for Alpaca and its users. The Japan team is building a localized ledger system, and the role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact features and projects.

The position is remote and offers the opportunity to work with a globally distributed team and contribute to open-source projects.

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders.
• Building backend systems with integrity and scalability.
• Owning the delivery of high-visibility features.
• Improving the health of Alpaca’s systems.

Requirements:

• Fluent in business-level Japanese and conversational English.
• System design skills with object-oriented data modeling.
• Strong coding skills in Go or Java.
• Experience with IDLs, RPC frameworks, cloud platforms, and relational databases.
