Assistant Controller

Alpaca, a US California-headquartered brokerage infrastructure technology company, is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage accounting, financial reporting, and finance-related compliance functions. The Controller will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in all financial aspects of Alpaca's operations. This role is pivotal in shaping and implementing financial strategies in alignment with the growth of Alpaca's Crypto business.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of traditional financial expertise and a strong understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Role Involves:

• Streamlining and scaling accounting processes.
• Implementing and maintaining internal controls.
• Overseeing month-end closing processes.
• Assisting in preparing financial statements.
• Coordinating tax compliance.
• Coordinating with external auditors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a management-level role (experience in crypto, fintech, or technology sector preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Intacct a plus); experience with blockchain-based financial tools is highly desirable.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
