Job Description
31st Union is seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to join their team and work on Project ETHOS, a new free-to-play, 3rd person rogue-like hero shooter. The Senior Gameplay Engineer will collaborate with designers and an experienced engineering team to create innovative gameplay mechanics and tools within scalable and flexible systems. They will have the opportunity to lead key features from design to final polish, collaborating closely with dev partners to ensure everything runs smoothly and mentor junior engineers. Role involves:
- Leading the development of game mode systems for an AAA multiplayer game.
- Driving iterative prototyping and refinement of gameplay features.
- Collaborating with designers and engineers to create tools and systems.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
- Focusing on delivering polished, player-facing features.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a gameplay engineer on AAA multiplayer games.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and strong understanding of 3D math, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience designing and implementing systems that improve designer workflows.
- In-depth knowledge of adjacent systems like networking, AI, backend and UI.
- A strong passion for creating high-quality, polished gameplay.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
