Guerrilla is seeking a Cinematic Technical Designer to join its Cinematics team in Amsterdam. The Cinematic Technical Designer will design and integrate scene data, including character animations, visual effects, and camera work, to create compelling cinematic sequences. They will act as a key connection point between asset creators, design, narrative, and the game engine, ensuring all elements seamlessly enhance the storytelling experience. The Cinematics team at Guerrilla is a multi-disciplinary group focused on creating real-time scripted sequences.Role involves:
  • Designing and implementing cinematic sequences
  • Integrating character animations, visual effects, and camera work
  • Coordinating with various disciplines to effectively prototype concepts
  • Integrating cinematics into the game world
  • Collaborating with animation, narrative, and design teams
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing cinematic sequences
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of cinematic tools and workflows
Requirements:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Maya or similar DCCs
  • Experience in video game production and cinematics pipelines
  • Familiarity with timeline editors
  • Experience with scripting and/or programming
  • Strong communicator, able to effectively collaborate across departments
  • Skilled in writing clear documentation for bugs and feature requests
