Senior DevEx Engineer

Job Description

GoFundMe is seeking a Senior DevEx Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team. This role is crucial for building and maintaining the platform that enables engineers to design and deliver advanced cloud infrastructure, supporting nonprofits worldwide. The Senior DevEx Engineer will shape the Platform Engineering vision and empower engineers to deliver world-class products.Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing robust, fault-tolerant cloud solutions.
• Sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Participating in strategic decisions regarding cloud architecture.
• Enhancing system performance through observability and reliability.
• Designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Engaging in hands-on development of the Internal Development Platform.
• Creating and maintaining IaC.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 6+ years equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years experience designing and managing scalable cloud-based infrastructure.
• Expertise in one or more Cloud Providers (AWS preferred).
• Expertise using IaC (Terraform preferred).
• Proficiency with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in software architecture, including asynchronous event-driven architecture and microservices.
• Proficiency in application performance management (APM) with tools like NewRelic, DataDog, and Splunk.
• Hands-on experience developing applications with Java, kotlin, NodeJS, or PHP.
• Skilled in managing distributed data systems and troubleshooting complex issues under high load.
• Knowledgeable in building high-volume transaction systems and familiar with compliance regulations like PCI, SOC2, and GDPR.
• Strong collaborative skills with experience in leading initiatives and working with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills.
