Product Revenue Accounting Lead

GoFundMe is seeking a Product Revenue Accounting Lead to spearhead the accounting strategy behind its internal ledger build. This role is crucial for ensuring accuracy, scalability, and control across GoFundMe's global transactions. As a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Finance, the candidate will own and shape the ledger infrastructure that powers automated revenue recognition and system-integrated compliance.Responsibilities include:

• Leading the accounting design and implementation of GoFundMe’s internal ledger system for global revenue and fund flows.
• Translating accounting policy (ASC 606) into system-integrated logic.
• Collaborating on ledger architecture and ERP integration.
• Providing technical accounting guidance for new product launches.
• Building scalable, SOX-compliant workflows.
• Owning and refining reconciliation and close processes.
• Using SQL and analytics tools to validate data flows.
• Partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and Operations.
• Supporting ad hoc analyses and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Deep understanding of US GAAP, especially ASC 606.
• Experience designing or supporting accounting ledger builds.
• Demonstrated ownership of revenue close processes.
• SQL fluency.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills.
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
