Legal Counsel

Job Description

Majority is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their legal team in Miami, FL. This is an in-person role reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, offering the chance to provide legal support across various business areas within a fast-paced fintech environment. The Legal Counsel will collaborate with multiple departments to develop new products, negotiate agreements, and advise on legal risk and regulatory compliance.

The role involves working alongside various departments to develop new products, negotiate agreements, advise on legal risk and regulatory compliance in a variety of areas, support corporate, employment and litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Advise on consumer finance regulations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Advise on marketing and social media compliance.
• Support legal aspects of investment rounds.
• Provide guidance on data privacy laws.
• Partner with teams to provide legal advice throughout product development.
• Provide guidance on legal risks and best practices across departments.
• Contribute to any legal matter within the organization.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a top U.S. law school.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (US or equivalent).
• 4-7 years of combined relevant experience in law firms and in-house legal departments.
• Experience working with fintechs or financial services companies.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience with consumer finance regulations.
• Ability to work independently and adaptively.
• Excellent communication skills.
