Senior Consolidation Specialist - Jumia (Full Time)

Jumia, a leading pan-African e-commerce platform, is seeking a Senior Consolidation Specialist to join their team in Portugal. The ideal candidate will be at the heart of Jumia's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across diverse markets. He will work with a dynamic team to create a clear financial picture that drives informed decision-making at the highest levels of the company.

What this role involves:

• Leading the monthly consolidation process, synthesizing financial data from multiple African markets
• Collaborating with local finance teams to gather and validate financial information
• Preparing and reviewing local financial packages, ensuring adherence to IFRS standards
• Implementing consolidation adjustments to accurately reflect Jumia's financial position
• Developing insightful financial reports that illuminate Jumia's performance across diverse African markets
• Contributing to the creation of management reports that guide strategic decisions
• Analyzing trends and variances, providing valuable insights to senior leadership
• Spearheading the intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring alignment across Jumia's operations
• Acting as a key liaison during external audits, showcasing Jumia's financial strength and compliance
• Staying abreast of IFRS updates and local regulatory changes across African markets
• Identifying opportunities to streamline consolidation processes through automation and best practices
• Collaborating on projects to enhance Jumia's financial systems and reporting capabilities

Requirements:

• Degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in Audit, Corporate Finance, Accounting, or Consolidation within an IFRS environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French or other African languages is a plus.
• Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with consolidation software is advantageous.
• Sharp analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in all financial reporting.
• Ability to guide and mentor team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
