Job Description

Jumia is seeking a Senior PHP Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to Africa's leading e-commerce platform. The candidate will be involved in architecting and developing scalable solutions, leading tech stack evolution, and driving innovation across various platforms. The role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and project management capabilities.

• Architect and develop scalable solutions
• Lead tech stack evolution

Requirements:

• 8+ years of PHP development experience
• Expert knowledge of modern frameworks (Zend Expressive, Laravel, Symfony)
• Advanced database skills (MySQL optimization, NoSQL)
• Experience with high-transaction platforms
• Proficiency in message queuing (Kafka), caching (Redis), microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and Git version control
• Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Proven experience with design patterns
• Expertise in architectural principles
• Knowledge of SOA and microservices
• Fluent English communication
• Strong analytical capabilities
