Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Jumia (Full Time) at Jumia

Jumia, a leading pan-African e-commerce platform, is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its Kenya Tech Center. The successful candidate will contribute to test plans, analyze requirements, and create test case specifications. They will also prepare test environments, execute test tools, and troubleshoot issues detected through automation and manual testing.

The role involves working with product owners, developers, and team leaders to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan test coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Implement tests from design stage to execution (e.g., Functional, Performance, Load, and Stress).
• Analyze, review, and assess user requirements, specifications, and testability models.
• Create Test Case specifications based on ticket descriptions and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test data and test environments.
• Configure and execute test tools and Continuous Integration tools.
• Use test frameworks for Mobile apps, Mobile theme and Desktop.
• Automate tools and procedures for QA layers.
• Organize responsibilities and tasks, identifying potential obstacles.
• Work with product owners and developers to define acceptance criteria.

Requirements:

• +5 years of experience (is a plus)
• Academic background in IT or equivalent (is a plus)
• ISTQB Foundation (strongly preferred)
• Knowledge of Gherkin syntax.
• Familiarity with Quality Processes and Agile Methodologies.
• Experience in Web Software and Mobile Applications.
• Knowledge about Software development life-cycle and test processes/flows.
• Experienced with testing tools such as Cucumber, Static/Dynamic Analysis tools and JMeter.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins) and source control systems (GIT).
• Familiarity with technologies such as Java, Ruby and JavaScript.
• Solution-oriented and proactive attitude.
• Proficiency in English.
