Jumia, a leading pan-African e-commerce platform, is seeking a Senior Retool Software Engineer to join their team in Kenya. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and testing high-quality solutions within a team-based development environment. They will work with a modular code base, participate in peer reviews, and adhere to disciplined source code control and documentation practices. This role emphasizes quality, scalability, performance, and architecture, ensuring good practices, security, and compliance.
Role Involves:
- Interpreting business/technical requirements and translating them into solutions.
- Working in a team-based development environment with code reviews.
- Optimizing Retool applications and development processes.
- Collaborating with peers on development, testing, and automation tasks.
Requirements:
- Strong Javascript experience
- Experience with low code platforms, Retool experience is a plus
- Understanding low code workflows and resource integrations
- Solid understanding of OOP, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Redis...).
- Experience with testing layers and version control technologies (e.g., GIT).
- Knowledge of algorithms and distributed systems.
- Academic background in IT or equivalent.
- Proficiency in English.
