Backend Engineer - Python (Multiple Openings)

Job Description

Salsify, a leader in Product Experience Management (PXM), is seeking a Backend Engineer - Python to join their Connections team. The ideal candidate will innovate and improve products, solve complex problems, and define product direction. They will work across the Salsify technology ecosystem, building and maintaining back-end services and APIs in Ruby and Python, interacting with Retailers, Marketplaces, and E-Commerce platforms.

The role involves:

• Building and shipping production-grade software.
• Setting technical direction and defining the technical approach.
• Collaborating with product and engineering management.
• Growing as a leader and mentoring new team members.
• Participating in tech talks and guilds.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Experience in Python (Go and/or Ruby knowledge is a plus).
• Experience building consumer-facing applications in a SaaS or product-based company.
• Experience with contemporary frameworks, build tools, and testing tools.
• A drive to build scalable and performant applications.
• An interest in exchanging ideas around building robust, secure, maintainable software.
• Comfort providing and receiving feedback on implementation ideas.
• Thoughtful opinions about efficient and secure deployment practices.
