Lead Value Engineering

Job Description

The Lead Value Engineer role at SingleStore involves working with sales and solutions engineering teams to identify customer pain points and showcase real-time capabilities. The individual will provide value-based demonstrations, presentations, and support proof of concepts to validate proposed solutions. They will be comfortable in executive conversations and deeply understand the technology.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with current and prospective clients to understand their technical and business challenges, presenting SingleStore's product offerings, providing feedback to product teams, and validating TCO calculations and ROI models. They will also share passion for real-time data, fast analytics, and simplified data architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with current and prospective clients to understand their technical and business challenges
• Present and demonstrate SingleStore product offering to fortune 50 companies.
• Provide valuable feedback to product teams based on client interactions
• Stay up to date with database technologies and the SingleStore product offerings
• Create and validate TCO calculations and ROI models to show positive business outcomes

Requirements:

• Masters in related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc), or 7+ years experience in a technical pre-sales role; Alternatively an advanced degree (e.g.: MBA), or 7+ years experience in value engineering or management consulting roles
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Experience negotiating complex deals from a value-based selling perspective
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to C-Suite
• Broad range of experience within large-scale distributed database and/or data warehousing technologies
• Demonstrated proficiency in ANSI SQL query languages and in analytics tools like Excel and Python used by FP&A teams
• Understanding of private and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware and hybrid architectures
