Staff Software Engineer, Platform, Dash Enterprise

Plotly is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of the next generation of its product. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the product remains innovative, scalable, and competitive. The ideal candidate will help data scientists, engineers, and analysts across the world achieve their goals.

The role involves:

• Designing and adapting product architecture for customer environments.
• Defining and building self-contained, deployable solutions.
• Shaping customer-driven deployment strategies.
• Driving product portability and scalability.
• Championing observability and operational excellence.
• Setting security and compliance standards.
• Collaborating with customers on integration.
• Leading the evolution of the platform.
• Influencing engineering processes and infrastructure improvements.
• Driving documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Working closely with QA, product, and documentation specialists.

Requirements include:

• 10+ years of experience in professional software development.
• Expert-level proficiency in GoLang.
• Deep experience in customer-driven software development.
• End-to-end development lifecycle expertise.
• Extensive experience building and scaling distributed systems, APIs, and platforms.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud based infrastructure like Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Proven ability to lead technically challenging, cross-functional projects.
• Strategic technical decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
