DFINITY is seeking a Research Engineer specializing in System Security to enhance the security of the Internet Computer, a WebAssembly-based virtual execution environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of virtualization environment. This role involves collaborating within a dynamic, world-class team and requires in-office presence in Zurich three days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a distributed team of researchers and engineers.
- Address system security aspects of the Internet Computer's tech stack.
- Keep up to date with trends and vulnerabilities in the field.
- Provide technical insights and communicate them clearly.
- Contribute to documentation, test suites, tools, and libraries.
- Lead or participate in scientific publications and conferences.
- Represent DFINITY at academic and industry conferences.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of relevant academic or equivalent experience in system security.
- At least 3 years of experience in systems programming (C/C++, Rust).
- Solid understanding of concurrent and distributed systems.
- Working understanding of operating systems, compilers, sandboxes and virtual machines.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- PhD degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
