Renewal Underwriter

Job Description

Jencap Insurance Services is seeking a Renewal Underwriter to join their team in Atlanta, GA. The Renewal Underwriter is responsible for maintaining a high level of service and responsiveness on current accounts. This role involves working with agent and broker clients, as well as internal teams, to underwrite profitable renewal commercial P&C insurance within established authority levels. The position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Determining the acceptability, quality, and profitability of existing business based on company underwriting guidelines.
• Collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Managing assigned territory to ensure renewals, endorsements, and claim reviews are completed accurately and on time.
• Providing timely and efficient customer service to agents, policyholders, and team members.
• Making recommendations to senior underwriters on risks exceeding assigned authority.
• Addressing assigned workload within established quality, productivity, and service standards.
• Meeting regularly with broker/underwriting teams on strategy and follow-up.
• Handling special projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience in P&C renewal underwriting.
• Participation in company-organized insurance seminars and workshops.
• Ability to travel as needed.
