ALU is seeking a Campus Facilities Associate to support the daily operations of its campus in Rwanda. This role involves maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The Campus Facilities Associate will work closely with the Campus & Facilities Operations Senior Manager and the Operations Team to ensure the smooth functioning of the university's infrastructure. ALU is committed to safeguarding and has a zero-tolerance policy for any violations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising vendor for campus maintenance and repairs.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks and responding to requests.
  • Implementing a preventive maintenance program.
  • Assisting with vendor coordination and procurement.
  • Implementing safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assisting in facilities-related projects.
  • Overseeing the setup of facilities for institutional events.
  • Supporting environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for facility-related inquiries and requests

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferably Engineering).
  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance tasks and use tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills & familiarity with facilities software and CAD systems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
